João Ferreira wins Baja Poland for the Cross-Country World Cup

João Ferreira and Filipe Palmeiro, driving a Mini John Cooper Works T1+ from X-Raid, dominated the Baja Poland, winning the Prologue and all four selective sectors, securing victory in the fourth round of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas. With this result, the driver from Leiria moves up to second place in the overall standings of the World Cup, now leading the classification among Ultimate category vehicles.

“This was an excellent race for us. We were here two years ago and used that knowledge to be fast. The car performed at a high level, as did Filipe and the entire X-Raid team. We managed to win, taking all the special stages and the prologue, which puts us in a very strong position in the overall standings of the World Cup. Our next challenge is in Portugal, the Baja Sharish Reguengos de Monsaraz, where we will, as always, fight for victory in a race that counts for both the National Cross-Country Championship and the European Cup,” explained the young driver from Leiria, co-driven by Filipe Palmeiro.

It is worth noting that, in a season full of races, João Ferreira holds second place in the National Cross-Country Championship, even without having participated in the first round of the competition. Internationally, after a very positive Dakar where he fought for victory in the SSV category, João Ferreira is in great form, leading the European Cup for Bajas and now, after four of the eight rounds, rising to second place in the World Cup. The next round of this competition will take place in Portugal, at the Baja Portalegre 500.
